Seeing the potential of the barn, Lucy set about putting all of her savings into renovating the property. Working with local architects and artisan builders, the property now has foundations, a new roof, windows, doors, and utilities. In December 2020 a mortgage had been offered by BNP Paribas to fund the rest of the renovation, however, due to Brexit, BNP Paribas withdrew all offers of funding to UK citizens looking to fund properties in the EU. This includes building the interior of the property, swimming pool, hot tub, and landscaping. Once completed, The Big Barn will yield a rental income of £1000 per week over the summer season and £750 a week during the winter.
